HW4-Serial Hardware Set up

1. Plug blue “fireplug” dongle into the computer. USB extentions are not acceptable.

2. Insert  the Play Attention interface box into the BodyWave armband sleeve.

3. Connect the blue armband cable to the front of the interface box.

4. Strap the armband to the arm so that all three sensors make skin surface contact.

5. Turn Play Attention interface box ON. Wait for solid red light to appear.

6. Log-in to Play Attention as username: system  password: admin.

7. Go to the <System> menu then click <Setup>.

8. The first line Type should say HW4-Serial.

9. The Location line should be blank. If there is information in the location line, delete this information.

10. Click Submit.

11. Click on the tab that says <Hardware Test>. Click the red <Test> button.

12. A separate screen will pop up and run a quick test. If the test ends successfully with no error message, your hardware is now set up properly.

13. Logout from the top right corner of  Play Attention screen.

14. BEFORE removing the armband, press the red button on the front of the Play Attention interface box, hold for 2-3 seconds, and let go. The light should then turn OFF. DO NOT remove the armband while the interface is still ON.

15. The blue “fireplug” dongle may be removed from the computer, or may be left plugged in. If the dongle is removed, make note of the post used and use that same port for the next session.
