Cannot Initialize Attention System

With this error: "Cannot Initialze Attention System" the most common recourse is to change the batteries. As you have, more than likely, already done that I would suggest the following:

Run a Hardware Test

1. Verify that the Bluetooth USB device is plugged in and has a single LED lit.

2. Turn the BodyWave Armband on. (It will blink green and then turn red)

3. Open the Play Attention application. Go to <System>, <Setup>.

4. Set Type to <HW4-Serial>, Location should be BLANK (delete any characters in that box.) Click <Submit>

5. Switch to <Hardware Test>. Click on <Test>. A command prompt will pop up and run a quick test. The test is successful if you see numbers increasing in percentages, ending at 100% (If unsuccessful on the first attempt repeat the Hardware Test. If the test fails multiple times please let us know.)

If you pass the Hardware Test but are not able to successfully play a game like Attention Stamina or Discriminatory Processing. Then please let us know. It is likely a problem with the Graphics driver. The steps we would take are below:

1. Delete Ogre.cfg file (Path: Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.playattn5)

2. Restart Play Attention and start a game.

3. When OGRE appears choose Direct 3D9 Rendering Subsystem, then click OK. Start a game. If this does not work, repeat the deletion of ogre.cfg file, then choose Open GL instead, click OK. Start a game.

If any of this is too confusing, or you would just like some assistance, We would be happy to provide remote desktop assistance via LogMeIn Rescue. Let us know a date and time that work for you and we will be happy to schedule a session.
