Transferring Session Database When Replacing 5.4 with 5.4.5

You have the option of copying the database and dropping it into place, instead of using the option in Play Attention that creates a .pkg for each user.  Follow these steps to perform this action:
  • Before removing PA 5.4, create a new folder on the desktop named 'Data'.
  • Navigate the following path: Go>Applications>Play Attention. Click on the Play Attention icon and choose 'Show Package Contents' from the list.
  • To arrive at the databases folder, follow this path: Contents>Resources>Applications>pa>databases.  If the list is shown in a grid, click the icon at the top of the window with four horizontal lines (this will arrange the files into list view).  To select all files: click the first file, hold down the Shift key, scroll to the bottom of the list, then click the last file.  Copy the list and then paste into the 'Data' folder you created on the desktop.
  • You can now move PA 5.4 to Trash, which removes it from the Applications and proceed with the installation of PA 5.4.5.
  • After you have installed PA 5.4.5, you will repeat Step 3 except you will select all existing files in the 'databases' folder, then click 'Move to Trash'
  • Select all of the files that you previously pasted into the 'Data' folder on the desktop, then copy and paste them into 'databases'.  After opening PA, you can make sure the transfer was successful by clicking 'Coach' and then 'Sessions'.  Click on an individual user to view their Session Data.
