"Could Not Initialize" with Bluegiga USB adapter.

Modified on Fri, 12 Apr, 2019 at 9:58 AM

Here are some things to consider:

Is the computer Mac or Windows?

Both "should" work out of the box. But, both will occasionally fail for different reasons.

Windows may need to download drivers: For Windows drivers read here: BlueGiga USB Adapter (reboot and test after installing)

Mac may need to run a patch to hard code the device in PA6. For Mac patch download here: HighSierra USB Serial patch (you will need to choose the USB device from a drop down menu; typically, this is "/dev/cu/usb-modem1")

On either Windows or Mac, sometimes the programming/pairing of the device gets corrupted and they need to be reacquainted with each other. Run this tool to re-program the USB device and the BodyWave.

In other cases we have seen that Internal bluetooth adapters create conflicts with the bluetooth signal to the BodyWave. In those cases we recommend disabling, or turning off, the Internal bluetooth adapter.
