Welcome to the Play Attention Mindfulness Apps.

Let’s walk through the setup process together to help you get started smoothly.

1. LOGIN
--------
- Begin by entering the username: `system` and the password: `admin` (all lowercase).
- Click Login to access the main interface of the software.

2. CONNECT YOUR DEVICE
----------------------
- If you haven’t plugged in the USB adapter yet, you’ll notice the device indicator is red.
- Go ahead and plug in the USB adapter.
- Make sure the BodyWave armband is securely on your arm, and then turn it on.
- When you're ready, click Scan for Devices.
- Once the scan completes and your armband is detected, click Save Device.
- The device indicator should now turn green, confirming a successful connection.

Note:
If you don’t have a USB adapter, make sure the armband is properly paired via Bluetooth in your computer’s Bluetooth settings before scanning for devices in the app. The armband must be connected and recognized by your system to appear during the scan.

3. CREATE A USER

- Click on Settings.
- Fill in the Username, Password, and Name fields.
- You can toggle Admin Privileges:
- If enabled, this user can create and manage other users.
- If disabled, the user will not have access to the Manage Users menu.
- Click Save User, then click Back, and finally click the Save button.

4. LOG IN AS THE NEW USER

- Log out of the current session and log back in using the new user credentials.
- Click Settings to check access:
- If admin privileges were not granted, the Manage Users option will be hidden.

5. ADJUST SETTINGS

- Under Device Type, ensure 'BodyWave Armband' is selected.
- Set the Quality Level to either High or Medium. Higher quality enhances the game graphics.
- Additional options you can toggle:
- Music (on or off)
- Unlimited Time
- Record Device Data

6. USING THE HELP MENU
----------------------
- Click on Help to learn about game mechanics and the specific mental skills each activity supports.
- Click Back to return to the main menu.

7. START PLAYING
----------------
- You’re now ready to begin your mindfulness training!

Mindfulness App Instructions

Each mindfulness practice includes Bronze, Silver, and Gold levels. As you move up, the program gradually increases the level of mindfulness required to activate and sustain the exercise. This helps you build the ability to stay more present, more often—strengthening your self-awareness, emotional regulation, and ability to return to a calm state when life gets busy.


Da Vinci’s Candle

This practice uses a candle flame to reflect your mindful state.

  • When you are calm and present, the flame grows brighter.

  • When your thoughts wander or you become unsettled, the flame dims.

Your goal is to keep the flame steady and glowing. Over time, this helps you recognize when you drift from the present moment and gently guide yourself back.


Lotus Advanced

In this practice, a lotus flower reacts to your inner stillness.

  • When you are fully present, the petals bloom and open.

  • When your mind becomes restless or distracted, the petals close.

This exercise helps you tune into subtle changes in your body and mind, so you can stay grounded and present with greater ease.


Da Vinci’s Expanded Awareness

This experience challenges you to stay mindful while also aware of your surroundings.

  • Remain present to keep the candle glowing.

  • Notice changes in the environment around you as they occur.

  • At the end, you’ll take a short quiz to reflect on what you observed.

This practice builds your ability to stay rooted in the moment while also taking in the world around you—a powerful combination for staying steady in everyday life.
