How To: Backup User Data

Data Backup : Directions for backing up student data files. 

Option #1: Personal Backup via Play Attention

1) Log-in to Play Attention as coach (or username: system password: admin)

2) Go to System menu, click Manage Users

3) Scroll to bottom of page, click Export Database

4) Click Export

5) Separate window will appear, choose Save File, click OK

6) File saves as exported.zip

(File typically saves to the desktop, or downloads folder within drive C:)

7) Copy exported zip file to a flash drive, external drive, or CD-ROM.

This will provide a personal back-up in case of any technical problems.

Option #2: Backup to ULT Server

1) Log-in to Play Attention as username: system password: admin

2) Go to Coach menu, click Progress Review

3) Type your email in the From field

4) Type For Backup in the message box

5) Click Submit System's Data for Review

This will send a secure message directly to us so we can store the data.

Option #3: Folder Backup (Windows)

1) Open My Computer from desktop or start menu

2) Follow path: Local Disk C:\ProgramFiles\PlayAttention\PA5\web2py\applications\pa\databases

3) Copy the databases folder.

4) Paste onto desktop or preferred location for backup.

Folder Backup (Macintosh)

1) In the Finder: Go>Applications>Play Attention. Click on the Play Attention icon and choose 'Show Package Contents' from the list. 

2) Follow this path: Contents>Resources>Applications>pa>databases. Copy all Files in this folder. Paste into a New Folder on Desktop or preferred location for backup.
