Setting up Hamachi iLab

Master Computer Setup

1. Go to www.logmeinhamachi.com.

2. Log-in with created user account.

Download LogMeInHamachi and Install if needed. Start with the free trial or purchase the standard network package. The free trial does limit your network to five clients. 

3. LogMeIn Hamachi application - Go to System and choose <Attach to LogMeIn Account>

4. Enter email address for account created and click <Attach>. 

5. Click <OK> for message: The account administrator will have to approve or reject this request. You will be notified of the outcome.  

6. Hamachi website - Go to My Networks and click link saying, "You have 1 pending join request". 

7. Select <Accept> for your pending request and click <Save>. Next page should say, "Settings saved". 

8. Go to <My Networks> and choose <Add Network>. 

9. Enter Network Name (and description if needed).

10. For Network Type, select <Hub-and-spoke> and click <Continue>.

11. Join Requests - Must be approved

12. Network Password - Leave this option unchecked.

13. Subscription - If a subscription has not been purchased, choose Free option here. If you would like to go ahead and purchase a subscription, select the option which will best suite your business. 

14. Click <Continue>. Next screen - Select your computer (master) listed under hubs and click <Continue>.

15. Do nothing here, just click <Finish>. 

Client Setup

1. Under left panel menu, click <Deployment> under Networks. 

2. Click <Add new link>. 

3. Type description for your reference (e.g. Client John Davis).

4. Maximum number of remote installations: 1

5. Expiration: 24 hours from now.

6. Networks: Check the network you would like your client to join and click <Continue>.

7. Look for: Your customized installation link is below (send this to remote users/computers).

8. Copy the link provided and email to your client (or yourself depending on setup). 

Student Computer

1. Click the Hamachi link emailed to the client or yourself. 

2. Welcome to the LogMeIn Hamachi Installer.

3. Check "I have received this link from a trusted source" and click <Continue>.

4. Click Download now and then <Save file>.

5. Double click downloaded file, Hamachi.msi, and then click <Run> when prompted.

6. Complete LogMeIn Hamachi Setup (Next->Next->I Agree->Next->Install->Finish). 

7. Launch LogMeIn Hamachi. Network should be listed as well as your Master (hub) and IP. 

Client Verification

1. Go to your LogMeIn Hamachi account and choose My Networks. 

2. Click <Edit> from the bar showing your Network name. 

3. Ensure your client's computer is listed as a spoke. 

4. If yes, you can log out and close the LogMeIn Hamachi website.
